This Magic Carp Rig Delivers Phenomenal Hookholds | Ali Hamidi
Extending the shank of the hook is a superb method to get more bites from carp much, much quicker.
Here's a belting little rig to try if you're an angler fishing on day ticket venues with barbless rules...
- Take some 18lb Blend Coated Braid.
- Form a loop in the braid and push through the front of our Horseshoe Hook.
- Slide a Vitabitz Micro Ring Swivel onto the loop you made.
- Put the loop over the hookpoint and line up half way from the point of the hook.
- Whip a Knotless Knot and pass back through the back of the eye of the hook, keeping the tag end out of the way, then trim the tag end near the hook.
- Grab one of our Long Legs Aligners, trim a small piece off to allow you to use it with a smaller hook.
- Position the aligner over the hook eye.
- Slide on a small Dog Bone Sinker.
- Tie a Twisted Figure-of-Eight Loop in the other end of your hooklink.
- Floss on your hookbait to the Micro Swivel and add a Bait Blob.
This rig works beautifully with the addition of a small Mesh PVA Bag of pellets, boilie crumb or chops. To avoid tangles, using the stringer needle on the Cool Tool, pull the hooklink through the middle of the bag. You can then of course add an Anti-Tangle Sleeve and loop the rig onto the Magic Twig. This combination will ensure you are not only presented everytime, but the carp simply won't be able to get away with it. They just don't stand a chance! BOOM!
