How To Tie Really Short Chod & Hinge Rigs | Roo Abbott
The Hinged Stiff Rig is one of the best Carp Rigs of all time, but how short should the Chod section be? Roo Abbott explains...
At Grenville recently, I had to make a slight adjustment to my Rigs. With Spinner Rigs banned, I needed to make a Pop-up Rig that replicated them as closely as possible. The answer was the Hinged Stiff...
Using our Chods Away Rigs, I decided to make my Hinge Rigs shorter than usual, so my hookbait popped up but was still as close to the bottom as possible. All I needed was some of our Vitabitz Crimps...
- Cut the Swivel off a Long Chods Away.
- Slide on a Vitabitz Crimp.
- Adjust the Hooklink to the length you want.
- Slide the line back through the other side of the Crimp and close down.
I've caught and watched others catch well on these mega-short Hinge Rigs for a while now. If you love the Hinge but just want a bait that little closer to the lakbed, you need to get crimping!
