The Invisible Carp Rig | Steve Hill
Carp can't see this simple Rig, because it is practically invisible underwater. So if you're on the hunt for a big edge in your fishing, this one is worth a closer inspection, as Steve Hill explains...
Hiding your Terminal Tackle from the Carp can be a massive edge on pressured and clear venues. There are several ways to do this, but one of the best is to use a product called Fluorocarbon, here's how I use our Blend Fluorocarbon to create an incredibly simple but responsive Rig that Carp simply can't see...
- Start by cutting your preferred length of 15lb Blend Fluorocarbon Soft.
- Using a Knotless Knot tie this to a Colne-V Needle Point Hook.
- Add a Tweakers Eyed Bait Screw to the Hook.
- Push on a Long Distance Hookbead to hold the Bait Screw in place.
- Grab a Dazzlers Aligner and slide it down over the eye of the Hook.
- Complete the Rig by adding a 30mm Blend Tungsten Anti Tangle Sleeve and complete it with a Twisted Figure of Eight Loop Knot.
- Attach the Rig to your Lead System, put on a Hookbait and you're ready to go.
WHEN AND HOW TO USE THIS RIG
- This Rig works best over a flat and clean lakebed.
- You can use both Boilies and particles as Hookbaits.
- Try fishing the Rig at different lengths to find the sweet spot.
- As you can't quick-change the Hook, keep it in tip top condition with the Tweakers Touch Me Up.
- On a Lead Clip, this Rig won't tangle. But if you are worried about tangles, try threading a mesh PVA Bag down the Hooklink.
