How to Massively Boost Solid Bags | Ali Hamidi
Solid Bags are a phenomenal carp fishing tactic, but once disturbed can soon turn into one of the worst. In this article, Ali Hamidi shares a tip that will keep your Solid Bags working at their best for much longer...

Solid Bags are brilliant for catching carp both big and small, right? But they can easily be ruined when a carp—or even a bream—visits and disturbs the contents of the bag without getting hooked. It’s frustrating, unless you want to re-chuck them regularly. But not with this method, which keeps attraction in the swim for much longer, giving you the edge of prolonged feeding in the area of your hookbait.

How I Tie A Boosted Solid PVA Bag
1. Add an Inline Arra Lead to one of our All-In-One Braid Solid Bag Rigs
Start by adding an Inline Arra to your pre-tied All-In-One Braid Solid Bag Rig. For beginners, or just those looking to save time, these rigs are fantastic and come with everything you need (other than a lead and hookbait) in the box. Great value and super simple to use.

2. Loop-to-loop the All-In-One Rig and supplied leader to your Dancefloor Mainline
Next, loop-to-loop the rig and leader to your Dancefloor Mainline. This is a quick, secure way to connect your rig and mainline, allowing you to get your Solid Bag out there with ease. With this connection you can even have several bags tied in advance, just loop the old one off and a fresh one on - time saving!

3. Floss on your favourite hookbait (I like pink and yellow wafters)
Attach your favourite hookbait with floss— Goo infused pink and yellow wafters are my go-to. They’re highly visible and carp absolutely love them. You can mix things up, of course, but these colours have a great track record.

4. Using the Cool Tool, puncture a few holes in a Large Fade Solid PVA Bag
Now, grab the Cool Tool and puncture some holes in the Large Fade Solid PVA Bag. This is a vital step to get the air out of the bag, helping you to pack it tight.

5. Add a fine layer of boilie crumb made with the B8M8
Next up, load the bag with a fine layer of boilie crumb made with the B8M8. The finer this crumb the better. This makes it easy to pack into a compact bag, but it also gives off a great scent trail that attracts fish from a distance when it starts spreading out in the swim.

6. Roll the Arra Lead in paste, then coat it in boilie crumb
Now, wrap your Arra Lead in a tough paste, and then roll it in the same boilie crumb. This adds another layer of attraction, releasing scent over time as the paste slowly breaks down, ensuring the fish are drawn to the area of your rig long after it has been disturbed by activity. Your crumb might be scattered everywhere but your paste will still be there working for you.

7. Add a layer of 8mm pellets, 10mm boilies, and chopped boilies
Fill up the bag with 8mm pellets, 10mm boilies, and some chopped boilies. This combination gives the bag a varied breakdown span of contents and a scent trail that carp will keep coming to investigate. Pellets will break down quickly, releasing more attraction, while the boilies give a bit more of a substantial meal for fish that are hanging around the area.

8. Lick and stick the top of the bag to ensure it’s as compact as possible
Seal the top of the bag by licking it and sticking it down. This compactness is crucial—when it’s tightly packed, the bag not only casts further and more accurately, but stays intact for longer once in the water, before exploding on the bottom.

9. You’ve now got a Solid Bag with more punching power than Mike Tyson!
This Solid Bag method will hit harder than you expect. Even if the bag gets disturbed, the paste around the lead will continue to lure fish, keeping attraction in the area of your rig for far longer than a traditional bag would. This setup is PVA Bag fishing on steroids—it’s a game-changer.
